We are not only looking to renew these acts, but would like to change some of the language in PREA so that it can be the most beneficial to children with cancer.

To accomplish this we are asking you to send a letter to your representatives in Congress to tell them that you support the additional language to be added to PREA.

CureSearch has explained precisely what BPCA and PREA do and has formulated the additional language to be added to PREA.  They have also created the form letter for you to print out or send directly by e-mail to your senators and representatives.  It couldn’t be easier to help children with cancer!

About the doll: In the announcement, Mattel stated “..we will be producing a fashion doll, that will be a friend of Barbie, which will include wigs, hats, scarves and other fashion accessories to provide girls with a traditional fashion play experience. For those girls who choose, the wigs and head coverings can be interchanged or completely removed.”

The Kids Walk began in 2001 as an 8th grade homeroom project at Packer Collegiate in Brooklyn, NY. One student’s little brother was finishing a 3-year treatment for stage IV neuroblastoma at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, so the students wanted to raise funds to help cure pediatric cancer. The 8th graders raised $35,000, and they vowed to keep walking for kids with cancer! In 2002 the students recruited teams from six other NYC schools, and every year thereafter new teams and new generations of students have joined the cause. Now students and supporters of all ages are walking and raising funds not only in NYC, but in Kids Walk events across the country!

* PRIORITIZE THE PRODUCTION OF THE PRESERVATIVE-FREE FORM OF METHOTREXATE.

* Prioritize the production of the preservative-free form of methotrexate.
* Consider working with the FDA to import preservative-free methotrexate if sources are available.

Once again the Huntington community rallied together and came out to support, participate, and volunteer in the Walk 4Love.  The 5k course is a scenic route that runs along the water and through the neighborhood streets.  The run has volunteers throughout, many of whom were Jana’s friends and loved ones, cheering on all of the runners and walkers.  In addition to the 5k there was also face painting, an award ceremony for the male and female winners in the race, and a raffle and silent auction with some great items.

Prior to the day’s events, the Walk 4Love was kicked off by a flash mob who encouraged anyone who felt like dancing to jump in and join the fun! Click Here for a video of the flash mob.

With over 700 people and great weather, this year’s Walk 4Love was truly an amazing event with an equally important cause. All of the money raised from the Walk 4Love is donated by 4Love Project to specific pediatric cancer research initiatives.  A BIG thank you goes out to all of the sponsors and volunteers because without them the Walk 4Love would not be possible.
